savoir vs connaitre with facts

Bonjour,

I am missing the distinction in the use of savoir vs connaitre with facts. A good example is "to know a recipe".

It seems to have it memorized would use savoir, but to know of the recipe would be connaitre. But, from reading the lesson, it seems connaitre would be used in both instances.

Please help!

Thank you

Bonjour Susan,

Take a look at this lesson, which will explain the difference -

Connaître vs savoir = to know something vs to know how to do in French

Hope it helps!
