Pourquoi est-ce que de utilise dans cette phrase--de lui parler--et pas à? Parler à lui ou parler de lui?

Bonjour Raymond,

If you were taking about someone, you would use 'parler de quelqu'un', and it would be -

Serait-il possible de parler d'elle / de lui ?

In this case, it is -

Would it be possible to speak to him ( M. Dupont ) ?

and it will be 'parler à quelqu'un' so the 'lui' in

....de lui parler

is an indirect object pronoun which means 'to him' or 'to her'
