The correct answer is "j'ai tenu bon" - could you also say, "j'ai tenu le coup"?

Hi Sean,

They are very similar -

The definition of tenir bon is, rester ferme 

and tenir le coup is résister 

So the difference between to hold on and to hold out.

Same difference in my opinion but will leave you to decide ...

To me, they mean the same thing: to hold up, to keep with it, to stick to it, etc.
