i was taught aimer to love a person /like a thing
adorer to love a thing
is this no longer considered correct?
You're correct: aimer is romantic love when used with a person and "like" when used with an object.
Adorer is "like very much" when used with either a person or object. But when a guy, just after a passionate kiss, looks at you and says "Je t'adore", you can make an exception and take it as meaning romantic love.
but i was marked wrong for using only adorer to love a thing- the answer wanted aimer as well?
