Translation of dread

My dictionary gives appréhender, craindre, and redouter as translations for dread.  Why are the first two not accepted ?   Thanks.

Bonjour Frank,

You're right that "to dread" can be translated by using the verbs "appréhender", "craindre", and "redouter". However, in this context, "redouter" is the most idiomatic. So, to avoid any confusion, we've now added a hint.

Merci pour votre excellente questions !

Bonne journée !
