Two questions ...

- Is s'il vous plaît used with veuillez not redundant?  (I wrote Veuillez vous asseoir and the "correct" response was given back to me as Veuillez vous asseoir, s'il vous plaît.)

- The text uses "les médicaments" rather than the singular; would that always be the case or is that just an interpretation of the English sentence?  I.e., it could either be a mass noun or a single, specific drug.

1. "Veuillez vous asseoir, s'il vous plaît":

Yes, it is redundant. However, French native speakers do use it in this context.

2. "les médicaments":

You're right both "le médicament" and "les médicaments" are correct. When talking generally about medication, you will tend to use the plural form in French. However, we have now added the singular option to the list.
