Bonjour Archana,

In this context, no, you couldn't use "baisser la température" on its own. The sentence would not make much sense (something else is needed). Plus, there is a clear hint given: HINT: "faire descendre" = to lower. ;-)

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

Hi Archana,

"I cover my forehead with a cold towel to lower my temperature."

baisser is a transitive verb and would be appropriate in this context.

I'm confused about whether you are seeking to replace a faire causative construction?

The above text is taken from the exercise and the subject is performing the action of covering the forehead to lower her temperature.

So there is no faire causative being used here. There is no agent of the subject doing the action?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding your query?

Bonne journée

Jim
