Why is l' used before 'on' in this sentence?
Why is l' used before 'on' in this sentence?
Good question, Brenda,
It is to do with what is called 'euphonics' when things are hard to pronounce, as in this case with the clash of vowels between 'et' ( the -t is silent) and 'on'. We add a - 'l' to make it easier to pronounce.
This happens between que and on as is mentioned in the following lesson.
Take a deeper look at the following lesson, which explains more about 'euphonique' -
Bonne Continuation !
