"veut" vs "a envie de"

"veut" vs "a envie de"

Instead of "Benjamin veut être bilingue un jour" I tried "Benjamin a envie d'être bilingue un jour."
This sounds correct to me, but it was not offered as altenative.

Bonjour Pierpaolo,

https://progress.lawlessfrench.com/questions/view/when-do-you-use-vouloir-and-when-do-you-us-avoir-envie-de

This is the link where this type of query was dealt with four years ago — particularly, Chris's comment, which summarises the nuance between vouloir and avoir envie de very well.

Bonne continuation

Jim
