1)I just did a quiz on futur proche. One answer was: Demain, j'y verrai plus clair. (Tomorrow, I will see more clearly.) What does y represent here?
2) Ils sont vus des animaux en Afrique? Oui, ils y en a vus. If only a single adverbial pronoun is acceptable, which one do I select?
Thanks in advance
1. J'y verrai plus clair , isn't the futur proche which would be :
Demain, je vais y voir plus clair
The 'y' is idiomatic here, as the 'en' of s'en aller as the expression is -
Y voir plus clair = to see more clearly, to have a clearer picture of something
2. you can't replace all the nouns of the sentence without running the risk of losing meaning, so I would probably say :
Ils en ont vus en Afrique/ là-bas = They saw some in Africa/ there
