What happens to gentil when it describes more than one person?
Elle est gentille. - Tout le monde est ________ ." The correction said the blank should be filled by gentil. The lesson states personne, rien, tout le monde, quelqu'un are always masculine. Please confirm; are they always masculine singular?

Yes, I can confirm that with 'tout le monde' you do use the masculine singular of the adjective gentil.
Tout le monde est gentil ici = Everyone is nice here
C'est quelqu'un de gentil = He/she is a kind person
Personne n'est gentil ici = Nobody is nice here
