Why is it "ma salle de bainS". Why the "s"?

J'aime ma salle de bains parce qu'elle est très propre. Il y a une baignoire blanche et une grande douche, donc j'ai le choix. Sur le sol, les carreaux sont bleus comme l'océan. Mon lavabo est fait de pierre et le robinet est très brillant. Je passe beaucoup de temps dans ma pièce préférée !

That's a very interesting point! As Maarten said 'salle de bains' is most commonly used. L'Académie française does recommend this spelling. That's why we only accept this option at present. ;-)
Also, 'bain' will be plural in expressions such as "un établissement de bains" (= a bathhouse), "garçon de bains" (= a washer).

“Salle de bains” is correct, and most commonly used. I see that wordreference also has “salle de bain” but this is not standard. “La salle pour prendre son bain/ses bains” (as “bain” refers to the act of having a bath it is effectively the “room for ‘taking baths’; not the room of bathtubs)
