Why not s’attendre?
Hi Manpreet Kaur,
1. The reflexive verb s'attendre ( as suggested in your title) would not work here as not only does it mean something totally different (to expect) but with the reflexive form, both pronouns are in the same person ---> il s'attend
2. Il m'attend pour vérifier sous son lit
would be correct but I prefer
il m'attend pour que je vérifie sous son lit
as it indicates that it is the mother who checks under the bed as suggested in the text as in the other one, it could be the child who does the checking with the mother there.
Bonne Continuation!
I think you could say il m'attende pour vérifier sous son lit. (Note the two little errors in your original sentence).
