Bonjour Charles,
"Talentueux" is definitely the best option here. You would tend to use "doué" with "être" -> "être doué pour/de/en [quelque chose]"
Ce joueur est doué = This player is gifted
Cet élève est doué en musique = This student is a talented musician
Il est doué d'une mémoire incroyable = He's blessed with an incredible memory
