
In French, adjectives ending in-s and -x have a different feminine plural form.
The feminine plural form of adjectives ending in -s or -x in French
Look at these masculine cases:
un homme heureux et des hommes heureuxa happy man and happy men
un vent frais et des vents fraisa cool wind and cool winds
le gros chat et les gros chatsthe big cat and the big cats
Adjectives ending in-s and -x stay the same in masculine plural forms.
BUT
Look at these feminine cases:
une femme heureuse et des femmes heureusesa happy woman and happy women
une brise fraîche et des brises fraîchesa fresh breeze and fresh breezes
la grosse souris mais les grosses souristhe big mouse but the big mice
Note that the feminine plural forms of these adjectives are regular (add -s on the feminine singular form)
