I was surprised that you used the word un baiser for a kiss -- it has been my understanding that it is a rude word and has been "replaced" by un bisou. Have I been misguided, or is there a context in which it's okay to use the word? Thanks for whatever light you can shed on my benighted mind...

If instead of just going down to the basement to fetch a bottle of wine, she went down THE STAIRS to the basement to fetch the bottle, would you conjugate descendre with etre or avoir?

In the video:" Les fleurs, c'est beau." C'est  is singular, beau singular, fleurs plural. Why    c'est   and not   Ce sont?

I assume this is an optional liaison?  I notice on the verbal pronunciation there is no liaison, but there is on the sentence "nous avons entendu..."

I'm surprised it's not a required liaison actually, as it seems like it would fall into that category based on my intermediate level french knowledge.

The English text had the word "and" before "the basil", and I seem to hear it in the French audio in the short segment that accompanies the text. Surely "et" should be part of the sentence?
