Tout, tous, toute, toutes = Everything, all (of them)...Hi - question one of the Kwik Kwiz in the above lesson asks "Il les a tous lus" means... Why is the past participle of lire in the masculine plural? I tried to ask the question on the lesson itself, but the Ask button didn't work. Thanks Michael

More emphasis on 'to fit'I think the lesson does not currently explain clearly enough the use of 'Aller à' to mean 'to fit.' It is only mentioned once in passing in the initial explanation, and there is no associated example phrase at that point. In fact, there is only one phrase using it in this sense in the entire lesson, mixed in with nine other phrases in the examples and resources. I didn't get the second correct answer in question two of the Kwik Kwiz, mainly because of the lack focus on this meaning in the lesson. I think a minor tweak would make the lesson more balanced in explaining the different meanings of 'Aller à' Thanks, Michael P.s. I love the whole approach of Progress with Lawless French, and find it really addictive, which must surely be a good thing when learning a language.

Why isn't "cet" used with singular feminin nouns that begin with a vowel or mute "h"?

3rd person plural possessive for a plural nounThere was a question on a recent quiz as follows: "Il faut qu'ils obtiennent leur permis de conduire," with English translation something like "They have to get their driving license." The quiz question was about the subjunctive of obtenir (which I got right), but I am just wondering about the use of leur rather than leurs. Translated strictly, I suppose leur is correct, but in both English and French I would have thought "their driving licenses = leurs permis de conduire" would be more accurate, since they each need to have their own license, not a single license among them? Nous avons reçu les invitées hier ou nous avons eu les invitées hier?Quel est la réponse correcte? Je ne pense pas qu'on puisse se servir (utiliser) le verbe avoir dans ce cas. D'habitude, je reçois les invitées, n'est-ce pas?

Avoir beau / pourvu que / en attendant etc. Est-ce que c'est nécessaire qu'on apprenne les phrases tel que avoir beau, pourvu que, quoique, en attendant que et à condition que... Vraiment, ça n'est pas une bonne question Je sais qu'on doit apprendre toute la langue. Mais, je n'en ai jamais vu dans les examens que vous avez présenté. Hier soir, notre prof (une française) nous a introduit tel que phrases. C'est important qu'on apprenne celles qui sont listé ci-dessus? Peut-être et en toute possibilité je n'ai pas écrit ma question correctement. Mais je l'ai essayé. J'aime bien votre site. Don
