Why is this correct? Isn't "quel, quelle etc." only for things? and while Les filles à qui je pense sont géniales is correct is there a difference in meaning between the two?
Direct speech : Ma mère m'a demandé "Qui est-ce avec toi?"
Indirect speech : a. Ma mère m'a demandé qui c'est avec moi.
b. Ma mère m'a demandé qui c’était avec moi.
I would be grateful if anyone can say a or b, which one is right, or any other is possible for this. Thanks in advance.
Why is "leur" the object pronoun for la police when la police is a singular noun?

I put in le mien and was marked wrong. i don't see any indication that the speaker is male or female, so why is the answer "la mienne"
"à plusieurs reprises" was not permitted for "several times", is it an incorrect answer in this context ?
