The written piece says "tellement d'endroits", which was marked wrong when I wrote it. Acceptable were: "tant d'endroits" or "tellement de lieux". Are they all correct?
I am looking at this sentence - 'Je passerais beaucoup de temps à prendre soin de lui, en lui parlant, le caressant, lui donnant des friandises - après m'être assuré qu'elles sont adaptées à ses besoins bien sûr !' - and thinking that the verb with 'adaptées' would naturally go into the subjunctive ('soient adaptées'), not the indicative, because the whole scenario is speculative rather than real. Or does this kind of hypothetical writing not normally call for the subjunctive?
The sentence to be translated: I can listen to them for hours!
I wrote: Je peux les écouter pendant des heures !
The exclamation mark was marked as incorrect even though it was called for in the original sentence.
I have great difficulty in deciding whether to use l'imperfait or parfait in translations and am surprised to see that both are acceptable in the sentence 'He wrote beautiful lyrics'. The imperfect is the preferred translation but the perfect is given as an alternative translation.
I thought the feminine of neuf was nouvelle, but it seems to be neuve. Can you explain please?
I answered that this word was not feminine, even tho it ends in -e, and was marked incorrect. A subsequent lesson noted that romantisme is an exception and is masculine. Please clarify, thank you
In the activity "En attendant Aline (Le Futur Antérieur)"
It's two in the morning, she must have had an accident! Il est deux heures du matin, elle aura eu un accident !
As per my understanding, Futur Anterieur is used for "past" (anterior) events in the future. In this context, there is no future.. They are discussing the possibilities in the past. Could someone else explain. I went through the lessons on Futur Anterieur and did the quizzes. I was able to understand clearly. But this particular activity, I could not understand. Please help.
