Hi Inge,

These are adverbs of comparisons but used for different purposes.

Aussi  ...que = 'as .... as'

Je conduis aussi bien/mal qu'elle = I drive as well/badly as her

Elle est aussi folle que moi = She is as mad as me

Patrick est aussi grand que sa mère = Patrick is as tall as his mother

It can be used with an adjective or an adverb.

Take a look at the Kwiziq lesson below which include 'autant que'  which is 'as much as' meaning, the same amount :

https://progress.lawlessfrench.com/revision/grammar/making-comparisons-with-verbs-plus-que-autant-que-moins-que

J'ai autant de mal qu'elle à comprendre I have as much difficulty as her in understanding

Il a autant d'argent que nous = He has as much money as us

Je conduis autant que lui quand nous sommes en France = I drive as much as him when we are in France

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure when to use aussi que rather than autant que
