Hi Ian,

The verb we use is 'ne pas insister'.

The verb 'persister' demonstrates some obstination in my opinion and would definitely break the zip.

Hope this helps!

Ian, ‘insister’ is not incorrect. As well as having the usual meaning of the English word ‘insist’, in French ‘insister’ is a synonym of ‘persévérer’ or ‘persister’, ‘continuer á faire qqc’ and is often used in this context.
