Lynx = eagle?

One example given is: Tu as vraiment des yeux de lynx !

You really have eagle eyes!Isn't "lynx" a "lynx" in English (and eagle is "aigle")? Or is "yeux de lynx" an expression that means very sharp eyesight, similar to "eagle eyes"?

This is an attempt to translate an idiom. To have eagle's eyes in English, you'd say that you have lynx's eyes in French.
