In this example, why is the answer not sortir? Thank youJe ________ de chez moi.I'm leaving my place.

Both 'sors'and 'pars' are accepted as correct answers.

Hi Jehan,If you had written "Je sors de ma maison" that would be correct.But when you write "Je sors de chez moi" this is incorrect because "chez" is a preposition and so this construction would have two prepositions (de and chez) one after the other.It may however be acceptable to write "Je sors de chez-moi" where "chez-moi" is a noun? https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/chez-moi-chez-moi.3386522/Hope this helps.Jim
