Question: You remind them to make their beds.
This question relates to:French lesson "Rappeler [à quelqu'un] = to remind [someone] in French"
Asked 4 years ago
Hi Melody,
The difference is between -
leur lit = their (own) bed
leurs lits = their beds
So without context hard to say...

If you said leur lits, it would mean that each one of them had more than one bed to make. That's a different interpretation than in English. In French, you take the view of an individual, who only has one bed to make, whereas in English you look at it from the group's perspective, where the group has several beds to make.

Chris- you say leur lits. Now I am really confused. I'd better see if there is a lesson on this!
