Singular vs Plural Adjective: films d'horreur

Why is "horreur" singular in this instance, when the "films" aspect is plural?

Does horreur ever need to change? E.g. if it was PL: films d'horreur vs SG: film d'horreur

Bonjour Joel,

The word 'horreur' is for the 'genre' of films, and it is singular when using a noun -

films d'action = action films

films d'aventure = adventure films

films de science-fiction = science fiction films

films d'horreur = horror films

You would only have an agreement if an adjective were used like:

films romantiques = romantic films

films fantastiques = fantasy films

etc.
