I used "la chapelure." for breadcrumbs which was marked as incorrect. The exercise wanted "les miettes de pain". According to the dictionary I used, both are correct. Can anyone clarify? Thanks

Translation for "breadcrumbs"?
This question relates to:French writing exercise "A family day at the park"
Asked 2 weeks ago

Hi Patrick ,
The word 'chapelure' is used in cooking for coating a piece of meat or fish before cooking it and you wouldn’t take this to feed the ducks.
So, 'miettes de pain' is the only possibility here.
Bonne Continuation!
