Why is the "best answer" given as suer but the final para uses transpirer?
Freeform Writing Exercise A2
I have checked the exercise and both 'suer' and 'transpirer' are accepted.
to sweat = suer
to perspire = transpirer
Hope this helps!
I have only read the initial intro. text and haven't done the actual exercise.
"suer" relates to becoming too warm or emotion / physical effort. These may well be experienced by ladies selecting a new outfit.
Later on, a necklace is offered to be lent which does not necessarily imply a mild sweat, it could have been an unexpected event that "transpired".
I'm speculating, but maybe this is the context in which "transpirer" is used?
