Une paire de baskets noires

Une paire de baskets noires

The above is the translation given for "a pair of black trainers" to describe what a wanted criminal was wearing, but alternatives given include "une paire de baskets noire", which seems unnatural as it’s the shoes that are black, not the pair. Is it a typo or a real alternative in French? I may be overthinking this, but in English "pair" would generally be omitted (as in some of the alternative correct answers). It’d be odd if he weren’t wearing two of them..
