WHen to drop the EZ from the vous form?

I don't understand why in this lesson the example is given i.e. the ez is dropped from the verb

-Donne-moi les fleurs!

-Give me the flowers!

However, I have been marked as incorrect by doing what seems to be the exact same thing.

Make this statement into an order : "Vous me donnez les fleurs": ________ les fleurs!imperative

·         Donnez-moi RIGHT

·         Donne-moi WRONG

Is this a mistake on your part or am I missing something here?

 Bonjour Ian,

In the lesson the statement is made using the subject pronoun "tu":

- Tu me donnes les fleurs?

- Non.

- Donne-moi les fleurs!

If the first statement had "tu" in the test question, then, "Donne-moi" would have been correct

Tu me donnes les fleurs -> Donne-moi les fleurs

Vous me donnez les fleurs -> Donnez-moi les fleurs

Take a look here too for the regular conjugations in L'ImpératifConjugate regular verbs in the imperative mood in French (L'Impératif)

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

Simply put, there is an imperative singular (for tu) et one for plural (vous). The verb form reflects this accordingly:

Parle-moi! -- Talk to me! (Speaking to someone you address as tu)
Parlez-moi! -- Talk to me! (Speaking to a group or someone you address as vous).
