Elsa gave her little brother his toy back. -> Kwiziq answer

Could this also be translated as "Elsa gave her toy back to her little brother"? How do you know who the toy belongs to?

This is an excellent question, Patrick, and it had me thinking.

But if you are giving back something by using the verb 'rendre', we can assume that Elsa had something that didn't belong to her.
