why "aux côtés de"?
This question relates to:French writing exercise "The Abbey of Fontevraud: a Royal affair"
Asked 2 years ago
Hi Carl,
The difference between the two expressions is -
être à côté de = to be nearby
être aux côtés de = to be by somebody's side / to be side by side
Hope this helps!

The hint told me to spell out the year in letters, then I was marked incorrect for not writing it in numerals.

Thanks for pointing this out M A, I think the hint is meant to say ´in numbers’ according to the answers so will get it sorted.
