Lack of pas in written languageI have quite often noticed that pas or other negative word is missing in written French, in newspapers and in books. I don't have an example at hand, though. Why is this and when can it happen?

Quitter vs PartirWe were asked to translate “I am leaving my place”. But it is ambiguous in English. E.g. if followed by “for ever” (as in moving out of my apartment), that would be “quitter”. But followed by “so i will see you at the cafe soon” would be “partir”. Shouldn’t the phrase be clarified to avoid ambiguity?

Construction correct?

Bonjour!

Is the below sentence correct in terms of usage of que/qui vs ce que/ce qui?

Je m’assieds dans une chaise sur le balcon qu'est attaché à mon appartement.

For some reason the "qu'est" doesn't look right to me but i dont know why. If any other errors, appreciate the correction on those as well.

On its own?"You can also use pas du tout on its own, in non-verbal sentences:"
Does this mean it isn't acceptable to use it on its own when speaking?

Je confonds. Pourquoi "Ce livre plait a elle" ne vas pas mais "ce livre lui plait" correct?

Limits of Rien!In all your examples "rien" is always at the end of sentence. Can you add clause(s) after "rien". For example: "C'est mon film policier préféré. Il n'est rien comme les films policiers modernes parce qu'il n'y a pas de poursuites en voiture à grande vitesse et personne n'est tué jusqu'à la dernière scène.
