why is 'du' used for Alana est descendu du train juste a temps?the instructions prior says 'de' becomes 'du' when followed by le or les - neither of which occurs in this example. is it because train is masculine? and the du train replaces 'de le train'? It's a bit unclear given de l' is used in the example with masculine noun l'avion - 'Aurelie descend de l'avion'. thank you

When would you use << faire >> as compared to other verbs? For example, "I am making a cake" as compared to "I am baking a cake". I guess I'm asking whether it's safe to substitute << faire >> for other French verbs that I haven't learnt if in English the verb can be replaced with "doing" or "making".

Asking a question in FrenchWouldn't "Allez-vous au cinéma ce soir" without a question mark be a statement i.e. Go to the cinema tonight?

"Je suis entré dans le salon sans que tu ne me voies." Since the main verb is not negated, aren't you NOT supposed to use the ne explétif?

In your example of the tu form of appeler, is that correct?

j'appelle

tu appelles Shouldn't this be (t'appelles)? If not, why?

il/elle/on appelle

nous appelons

vous appelez

ils/elles appellent

The explanations for the examples are very confusing. "We only ATE sweets." I'm not sure when someone would say this...
