7:40 or Twenty to eight?Have I mistakenly learned that you can say either  "Il est sept heures quarante." or "Il est huit heures moins vingt." for "It is seven forty." or "It is twenty to eight."

Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un stylo vs Qu'est-ce que c'est un styloThe examples give both the options for un stylo but the Kwiz I just did only accepts Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un gendarme, and Qu'est-ce que c'est un gendarme is marked wrong. Is there something different between un gendarme and un stylo that mandates using Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'?

Singular article with plural adjective + noun?

Hello,

I've run into a few sentences that use a singluar "de" before a plural adjective + noun. Like, "Elle a de grands meubles." Why is it de in this case and not "des"?
