Demi/demieIs there a reason it should be "et demie" and not "et demi"? The former is the feminine and the latter the masculine form, right?

Je manque de concert . . .The test says that "I missed the concert of . . " is ''J'ai manqué du concert . ." . In the lesson it says '''I missed the train'' is ''J'ai manqué le train'''. What is the difference between ''concert'''and ''train''? Why is one noun preceeded by '''de'' and the other not? Thx

"I only have a book" vs "I only have one book"Hi, I'm wondering about the difference between "I only have a book" and "I only have one book", which mean distinct things. It seemed to me that "Je n'ai qu'un livre" would be the former when I encountered it first. Is there anything that would differentiate the two English sentences? (No biggie, just wondering.)

Elle ne joue pas de flûte non plusI thought instruments were ‘joue de la’ (in this case flûte) - is there a reason the ‘la’ has fallen off in this example?
