"ils" vs. "elles""ils" is given as the correct answer and "elles" is marked wrong. Why can't "they" be translated as "elles"?

"les verres" - "wipes glasses" ou "wipes the glasses"?Un des réponses correctes était "elle essuie les verres." La traduction était "She wipes glasses." Est-ce-que ca ne doigt pas "She wipes THE glasses."?

Connaitre ou SavoirSlightly confused here. In the Lawless French Savoir vs Connaitre Quiz. Question no 4 “Il veut ... ce texte par cœur” says that both savoir and connaître are acceptable. arriver, to manage, also uses être as the auxiliary verb?I answered the quiz using 'as arrivé' for 'managed', but it was marked wrong and this is the linked page. There are other verbs which sometimes and avoir and sometimes être depending on meaning. Do I correctly understand that with arriver it only uses être? Thank you, Terri
