Placement of y in a sentence using futur procheI thought there was a rule that "y" should come before the verb (including auxiliary verb). There seems to be an exception when using the futur proche? For example: Je vais y reflechir rather than J'y vais reflechir.

Conjugation of 'luire' in the passé simpleI have checked the rule and your answer does not follow the rule. Therefore I checked conjugation tables for luire which support the notion that your answer is incorrect, and that the correct answer was not present. According to these conjugation tables Luire in the passé simple has these conjugations: je luisis tu luisis il luisit "Now the city would fall into the 3rd category 3rd person singular and so the correct answer is surely luisit - Ian

le deuxième degré ?Will there be a lesson covering «le deuxième degré» usage of French? I ran across this in an article that I was reading and had not heard the phrase previously. It seems that there is also «le troisième degré». premier degré = au pied de la lettre deuxième degré = humour troisième degré et plus = humour capillotracté, paludoludiverbisme, voire céphalocaptation… Merci en avance.
