Translating 'Je vais en ville'This literally means 'I am going in/inside town', but actually it means 'I am going to town'. Can you explain the french reasoning behind this usage. And is this correct 'Je vais à ville' for 'I am going to town'?

Passé simpleWhy is there so much emphasis (typically 4 out of 10 questions) on this tense in the CI tests? I would have thought that, at this level, tests to improve the use of idiomatic/colloquial language would be more useful. Such knowledge is frequently tested in the weekend writing challenges which are not marked by the system.
