I can see from the discussion that I am not the only learner who gets confused about this, but am I correct that these two sentences are translated thus:

Jack descended the giant = Jack a descendu le geant (Sorry, can't do the accent)

and

Jack descended on the giant = Jack est descendu sur le geant.

In the phrase "mais j'ai trouvé très utile d'y ajouter les exercises Hanon que tu m'avais recommandés"
shoudn't it be "exercices" instead of "exercises"?

Le mot "vissent"Je ne comprends pas le mot "vissent" dans la phrase "Nous avions dû nettoyer la maison avant que mes parents ne vissent le désordre." Je pensais que ce serait le subjonctif du verbe "voir" mais je l'ai trouvé sous le mot "visser".

We expect everything from him?I think this lesson needs to be broken up into 2-3 smaller lessons. Since "On s'attend à tout de sa part" means "We expect anything from him." To say we expect EVERYTHING from him, do we just remove "à"? Thanks.
