I translated "how many times" (I've got lost) as "combien de fois" rather than "le nombre de fois". This was not listed as an alternative, but according to my Reverso app they are both acceptable in this context. When would you use one rather than the other?
Is there a difference in meaning between these two expressions?
I understood that the par or devant were essentially the same - both mean to pass by something. I answered passer devant in this questions just to use a different way of expressing the same meaning. It was, however, said to be an error and passer par was the correct answer. Please explain. Thanks.
