In the sentencenous avons ouvert les fenêtres de peur qu'il n'y ait un fuite de gas.In the sentence, which may not be exactly correct, but is more or les as i remeber it, the translatio is ....for frar that there would be a gas leak. Can this be translated as might be or even as there is a gas leak. Like many english people i am a bit hazy about the subjunctive in my own language, hence the question.

Rating and ranking criteria for leaderboardOn the leader-board for Day Streak, there is a full page of participants who have a 7-day streak of tests taken. There does not seem to be a pattern of how the names are listed since all have tested for 7 straight days. What are the criteria for how these participants are rated and ranked to appear on the leader-board in this category?

Why beaucoup and not bien?

In the lesson above, you have AIMER BIEN / BEAUCOUP - TO LIKE / (A LOT). In the quiz, "J'aime bien tes chaussures." was marked incorrect for "I really like your shoes." It was corrected with beaucoup. If bien and beaucoup don't mean the same thing, then you need to clarify that in the lesson because as it is written, they look interchangeable.

Doubt in forming negative with ni....ni

Bonjour Madame Cécile,

I am facing a difficulty in forming the negative of the following sentence-

"J'aime jouer du piano et de la guitare"

Now, the negative would be as-

"Je n'aime jouer ni du piano ni de la guitare."

Here, will the articles du and de la remain or will they get removed? Because in the lesson it is stated that All articles except the definite articles will be omitted.

But I think jouer du piano and jouer de la guitare are fixed expressions in French so there should be no change in their structure.

Please confirm Madame.

Égal vs Égale

Hello, Thank you for clarifying the difference between Égal vs Égale.

So does this mean égal is only used as a symbol?

I see above both used in a sentence. e.g. Deux plus deux égale / égal quatre.

Why "dans le frigo" instead of "du frigo?"One takes the beer not *in* the fridge but *from* the fridge, which should be "de", shouldn't it?
