"Restée" is the correct past participle for a female, right?
You could program to accept both male and female answers, perhaps.
Women and girls need to get in the habit of using the feminine.
Yeah, yeah, I know that genderless is coming down the pike, but for now it is incontrovesial that women use feminite forms in French. How elegant it would be if I could write, "Je suis restée."
He must not lose his keys. Are both the following acceptable? il faut qu'il ne perde pas ses clés? et il ne faut pas qu'il perde ses clés?
Why does the "Si" clause use imperfect tense and not past conditional tense when the main part of the sentence uses present conditional tense?
(Yes, the answer is likely "That's just the way it works" - but I am curious.)
Bonjour. I am confused as how different is spelled. Sometimes I see ¨différent¨ but sometimes ¨différente¨
Thanks
Nelly
Speaking about vegan activists this week, News in Slow French used these forms. I can't even find them on conjugation sites! Are they la voix passive? They don't use "par"...
"Boucheries ont été vandalisées ces dernier mois."
"Magazins ont été aspergés de faux sang."
D'autres ont eu brisées les vitrines."
Very confusing. Thanks for your help!
