why is it that we can say je suis des parents, but not je suis des a amoureux?I mean this as in, when we say je suis des parents we say I am a parent, but when we say je suis des a amoureux we say I'm lovers - which makes no sense. Maybe it's just des I am confused with?

Relative pronounsBonjour! Is the following French sentence correct please?: ("The apple which the child is eating") .."La pomme que mange l'enfant". It looks like it's saying that the apple that eats the child! (2nd translation) This French sentence is from a very old Scottish school book that I bought online, published in 1932: Weir & Robertson, a section about relative pronouns, but Google translate gives the 2nd English translation above, not the first, which is from the book. Which source is correct please? The ancient book, or google? .. neither? I don't know! Cheryl

the first rule and the second are the same?the first rule says 1. usec'est in sentences it/he/she is + a/the/my... + thing/people but the 2nd says when using If it/he/she is is followed by un/une/le/la - use c'est. - but isnt 'un' 'a' anyway? - im not sure I understand the difference here...

Weekend writing challenge: Level B1 "With the summer approaching"Bonjour! Below is a sentence from the B1 weekend writing challenge, with the correct answer following: I tell myself that it might be time to go back to the gym! Hint: Use Le Conditionnel Je me dis qu'il serait temps de retourner a la gym My question is: where is the word "might" in this French translation, please? I was thinking of either using the subjunctive to cast doubt on the action, or including the word "peut-etre"... Why just write the conditional of etre? .. "would be", to mean "might", please? Different grammar for "après que" and "avant que"?Après que uses the indicative while the avant que uses the "ne" plus subjunctive. They appear to express similar thought, after and before. Perhaps there is a difference sense in French. Thoughts.
