Why does mienne have an article before it? Isn't mine a possessive pronoun?

Shouldn't "J'ai vu des endroits magnifiques" translate as "I've seen some magnificient places?"Here "des" precedes the noun, not an adjective, and therefore it does not become "de" or "d'" but it is still the partitive indefinite article "some."

Not always required in written French, actually.

In games like Pokemon they can omit the " ne, " rather than having all the characters speak more formally all the time. So it's not always required, is it? Not in character dialogue.

About the pronouncation: About the pronouncation: Isn't there a subtle difference between the pronouncatin of j'arrivai and j'arrivais? If not, then the conditional and the future tenses would sound the same. J'arriverai would sound just like J'arriverais.
