not really a question but a requestcould you include an impersonal in your examples such as the gas leak one becaue the il n'y ait threw me , not having given it due consideration. many thanks

It's like contredire in the present tense.Couldn't help but notice, but lire is a lot like contredire, interdire, predire in the present conjugation. " contredis contredit contredisons contredisez contredisent. " " lis lit lisons lisez lisent. " Maybe this page should mention that as a fun fact, I know it makes remembering how to conjugate different categories of irregular verbs easier when I know that they're conjugated the same way as each other.

Salut,If the verb of a negative sentence is être, would it still be possible to change un / une to de / d'? Merci beaucoup. ^^

Reviewing this, I find I'm confused anew. From the earlier lesson:Tu aimes mon pull ? -Oui, il est très beau. But above: À qui sont ces livres? Ce sont mes livres. Since the books under discussion are specific, why would one not say, Ils sont mes livres?

I believe that "Elles sont" should be used here because we are talking about specific tomatoes. Yet "Ce sont" is correct here - why?

à + a place?I was under the impression that we replace "à + a place" with "y", but the quiz gives "Elle pose les tasses sur la table." So "y" can replace any preposition + a place? Thanks.

ne expletif If the 'ne' is optional why are you marking down? Also in a previous explanation we are told that following a negative main clause we cannot use a 'ne' expletif....? Have I misunderstood? Please address both points.
