Until 1974 the English of translation of 'un milliard' would have been one thousand million (otherwise known in English as 'a milliard'), an English billion being one million million. Hi, Is there a Kwiziq lesson on the construction "demain on sera lundi" or "demain nous serons lundi" as a translation of "tomorrow will be Monday"?
J'ai acheté deux paires de chaussures, mais ________ me va.
I wrote "ni l'un ni l'autre ne", but it was rejected. It says it's "ni l'une ni l'autre ne". Now, I understand we're talking about PAIRS of shoes, not just shoes, and "un pair" is masculine. So is this an error?
I was asked to write "I am 10 minutes late" and I wrote "Je suis dix minutes en retard". I was told that this is incorrect, and the correct answer is "J'ai dix minutes de retard". Don't they both mean the same thing? Was I wrong?
