"les verres" - "wipes glasses" ou "wipes the glasses"?Un des réponses correctes était "elle essuie les verres." La traduction était "She wipes glasses." Est-ce-que ca ne doigt pas "She wipes THE glasses."?

Run on sentence

Bonjour Cécile. A few weeks ago I said I’d find an example of a run on sentence. In this lesson, I had one: Je ne peux pas parler maintenant, je suis en train de travailler. In English, we’d separate the two independent clauses with a semi-colon or a period, not a comma. I’m asking if it’s standard in French to use a comma to separate two clauses? Merci pour votre réponse !

Le Passé Composé - 'se plaindre (to complain) - plaint' For 'se plaindre (to complain) - plaint', Would it be, Je me suis plaint; Tu t'es plaint; Nous nous sommes plaint.. ?

Do you French really keep your sweets in caldrons?In England cauldrons are almost exclusively used by witches I believe. I would love to see their use extended to keeping sweets in.

Aussi vs. non plus

In the sentence " I also don't like some soccer fans " I used "je n'aime pas aussi" but the correction said it is "je n’aime pas non plus"


What is the reasoning here? When I read the grammar lesson behind it, it says "non plus" is more like "not...either" which is definitely not the same meaning as also in English.

Month intervalsIf you want to specifically say that a museum is open may-october every year as a "repeated occurrence", can you then use "du mai au octobre"?

Le mot "vissent"Je ne comprends pas le mot "vissent" dans la phrase "Nous avions dû nettoyer la maison avant que mes parents ne vissent le désordre." Je pensais que ce serait le subjonctif du verbe "voir" mais je l'ai trouvé sous le mot "visser".

Conjugation of 'luire' in the passé simpleI have checked the rule and your answer does not follow the rule. Therefore I checked conjugation tables for luire which support the notion that your answer is incorrect, and that the correct answer was not present. According to these conjugation tables Luire in the passé simple has these conjugations: je luisis tu luisis il luisit "Now the city would fall into the 3rd category 3rd person singular and so the correct answer is surely luisit - Ian
