I wrote "quand il a fait noir enfin" before reading the hint "quand la nuit est enfin tombée" but both seem to translate similarly. Can you explain please?
i cannot hear "il y a" in this sentence at all.
Why is "La carte vous donne aussi" correct and not "vous donnez"?
L’année qui commence promet être.....
Aren’t there two conjugated verbs( commence and promet) simultaneously?
Should not we say l’année qui commence promettre être.... ?
Hi, in the exercise step-through there is an incorrect audio recording. The text is “I first heard someone breathing”/“J'ai d'abord entendu quelqu'un respirer” but the audio contains “souffle” instead of “respirer”.
“...de serre. ce qui...” —->
“...de serre. Ce qui...”
I can't find either of these verbs in this form in any source, yet they are given as options for 'rewatch'. Although mater (already listed as 'very familiar' in Larousse and as 'argot' by the Academie-Française) and regarder are listed, neither shows up anywhere in 're' form ? Is this just slang - adding re- to any base verb as needed ?
Can you explain their origin and why they would be acceptable here ?
For "I believe that it would enrich my life" the only correct alternative given for "believe" is "je pense". Is there a subtle reason that "je crois" would not be as appropriate in this particular context?
(Also there is a rogue full-stop that has snuck in between "horizon" and "en ouvrant" in the second sentence of the exercise)
