Considering the followoing rule "In French, you use pendant/durant + [durée], or simply the duration itself, to express a duration with a clear beginning and end." Does the question below bot have both the options correct ?
the J'ai attendu ________ devant la gare (I waited for forty minutes in front of the station).
Pendant quarante minutes / quarante minutes

I’m just wondering what this was supposed to be, because the video is no longer available. Edit: I reported the example. The exact number seems to change each time the lesson is accessed.
When do you begin a sentence with où versus vous (or tu)? What’s the point of it being written both ways? Is one more common than the other?
There are no lessons, just sentences in french and I'm supposed to know what they mean!
C'est très utile pour apprendre les mots et les expressions d'une dictèe que le sujet soit un film ou un réalisateur, ou tous les deux. On peut référer au film afin de bien comprendre ce qui on a essayé faire dans l'exercise de la dictée. Vous devrez le faire de temps en temps pour renforcer le leçon , pour mieux retenir ce qu'on a appris.
Why use du coup instead of donc? Du coup and donc both translate to so.
Translates as 'You're worth it'. That may be how it is used colloquially but doesn't it really translate as 'You're worth the grief?'
Why is debuts plural? And what does it mean here? In English it implies a first public performance, is that also the case in French? The English translation of this is peculiar in that it could mean she is starting drama school. If it referred to the English meaning of debut it would translate as 'she is making her debut on stage'
The English states in the text, that the tree fascinâtes the artist because of the way the branches twist, which I take to be a positive emotion, as she is fascinated by this and inspired to sculpt this. Is there a grammatical reason for this use, or just a feeling of negativity here. Thanks for any response. John
