English sentence construction

The phrase “ and I owe to her to now be working for a publishing company!” seems not well constructed to me.  I would prefer something like “ and I owe her as/for the fact that  I’m now working for a publishing company “.  Or thanks to her….

The stylistic problem with the English is the split infinitive (...to now be working...), which sounds very awkward here. You could simply say: I owe it to her now to be working for a publishing company.
