Can you also use the verb détester as in je déteste

1) Les enfants reviennent des États-Unis et de France  ('des 'because US is plural and  'de' as France is singular I assume)

2) Les enfants reviennent de vacances. (Here is 'de' used because it follows reveinnent or because vacances is singular in French?)

3) Elle se souvient des vacances en Espagne. (What is the justification for the use of 'des' in sentence 3?  Why is it not 'de' as in 2) above?)

Why is it la salle de bains - 'la' and 'bains'

I notice the omission of any article to go with jeux in the phrase 'l'opportunité d'essayer différents jeux'. Is this something to do with the word différents? For example, if there were no adjective, you would surely say 'l'opportunité d'essayer des jeux'...?

In the noted exercise, the first sentence sounds like, "Cette année, on a DE la chance qu' ", but is written, " Cette année, on a la chance qu' ". Which is correct?

Pourquoi on utilise comme elle ne doit pas sortir. Pourquoi pas ainsi que où pour que ?

Why is it "la confiture d'abricot" but, "la confiture de la fraise"? Shouldn't it be "la confiture d'abricot" and "la confiture de fraise"? 

Or: "la confiture de l'abricot" and "la confiture de la fraise"?
