Nuit et soirHi, The quiz answer to It was that night that my insomnia started is cette nuit-là, but the example "That night, something extraordinary happened" is translated as ce soir-là. Is there a lesson on when to use nuit and when soir?

So many questions on this topic!! t seems to me that there is so much to think about with these avoir/être issues is simply to remember the one rule.

Use etre when it's followed by a preposition and avoir when it's followed by a noun.

en = it and en = themHi, I am confused about en meaninng both it and them. In some examples en is translated as it (Elle leur en a parlé She told them about it) and sometimes as them (Pierre m'en a offert Pierre offered me some of them.) Are it and them interchangeable in these sentences?

Prépositions pour les provinces canadiennesLe gouvernement québécois a publié cette article détaillant l'usage des prépositions avec les provinces canadiennes. Just pour compliquer ce sujet dont les règles sont déjà difficiles à décrire, la plupart s'utilise avec les prépositions correspondants à ceux utilisés pour les pays (ex. « au Manitoba »au lieu de « dans le Manitoba »). C'est probablement un détail trop petit pour ajouter comme règle sur cette page, mais j'ai pensé que ça vaut la peine de le mentionner dans les commentaires pour ceux qui voyagent au Canada :)
